Disclosure

Disclosure policy

How Blogbox discloses ownership interests in the businesses it writes about.

TODO · Placeholder disclosure policy. A final version should list the specific ownership interests and be reviewed by legal before publication.

Ownership

Blogbox is owned by an Australian private holding company that holds interests in several other Australian small businesses. The businesses we currently disclose a direct ownership interest in are:

  • Parchment Press · a Sydney-based publisher of long-form Australian non-fiction.

This list is kept up to date as ownership interests change.

How we disclose in articles

When a Blogbox article mentions any of these businesses, the article:

  1. Carries a visible disclosure banner near the top, labelled by the disclosure type (editorial mention, owned-business, sponsored, or affiliate).
  2. Marks the inline link with a subtle accent mark and a hover-tooltip linking back here.
  3. Emits structured-data disclosure in the underlying page markup.

rel attributes

  • Editorial coverage of owned businesses uses standard followed links (with the banner for disclosure).
  • Sponsored or affiliate coverage uses rel="sponsored" on the outbound links, in addition to the banner.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions (what we cover, who we cover, what we say) are made by Blogbox’s editorial team independent of the ownership group. Owner businesses receive no favourable coverage, no pre-publication review, and no veto.
